When Canada became a country in 1867 the banking industry was run by the individual banks, there was no central bank and no Canadian dollar. It took until the 30's before the Bank of Canada was formed and the Canadian dollar became Canada's currency. 

In this module I will walk you through the various things that created the banking system we have today. From 1867 until today, we'll explore how the changes in banking have affected Canadian life and life styles.
